Question
CEF 12 2025 Pet Cemetery
Councillor Bennett asked:
I have had a few constituents raise concerns about the state of the pet cemetery, although I haven’t been there to witness it myself, have been told that it is overgrown and that very limited space is available.
Would it be possible that the issues stated could be addressed?
Owners of pets become very attached, and pets are like family to them, so I think its only fair that they have somewhere to properly lay them to rest in the event of their passing.
AIG Response:
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. A site visit was conducted on Tuesday, 23 September.
AIG will carry out a general tidy-up of the area including trimming the overhanging trees.
We also agree that the small pet cemetery is almost fully used with very little remaining space. AIG is considering an option of developing a new small pet cemetery on land opposite the existing site.
AIG will provide an update via a Public Notice once we progress the works outlined above.
