The Ascension Island Government wishes to remind the public that the free trial period for Ascension Island Mobile (AIM) ends at midnight on 31 March 2026.

Easter Weekend Arrangements

The Georgetown Post Office will be closed on Friday and Monday over the Easter weekend. Customers who plan to make cash prepayments at the Post Office for their mobile accounts are strongly advised to do so before the end of the day on Tuesday 31 March to avoid any disruption to service.

Customers who do not top up in time may experience a pause in service, however, emergency calls will remain available.

International Calling

AIM will introduce international calling services from 01 April 2026, which will be available as an optional add-on at a cost of £1.50 per month. Customers who opt into this service will:
• Be issued with a temporary number for international calls
• Retain this number for the duration of the add-on
• Be charged in accordance with AIM’s published international call rates

Please note that an active plan and sufficient account credit are required.

UK: £0.50 per minute
USA: £0.50 per minute
South Africa: £0.50 per minute
several other destinations: £0.50 per minute
St Helena: £2.51 per minute *
Falklands: £2.26 per minute *
Inmarsat: £6.50 per minute *

* The rates for calls to St Helena the Falkland Islands and any Inmarsat phones are set by external providers. We are aware that this is significantly higher than previously set, however, AIM is not making any profit on calls to these destinations. AIM is engaging with network operators to negotiate better rates in future.
