The Ascension Island Government (AIG) confirms that the new telecommunications service for Ascension Island will operate under the name Ascension Island Mobile Ltd. The new network is being designed and built by Omnitouch Network Services, working in partnership with AIG.
This follows notice by Sure South Atlantic Ltd. (Sure) of its intention to cease providing telecommunications services on Ascension Island on 28 February 2026. Ascension Island Mobile is being established to ensure the continued availability of telecommunications services for the Ascension Island community from 01 March 2026.
Ascension Island Mobile will operate a newly built network, separate from Sure’s existing infrastructure. As a result, the way some services are delivered may differ from current arrangements, and not all services will transition on a direct like-for-like basis. AIG is working to minimise disruption wherever possible and will provide further information as arrangements are confirmed.
In preparation for the launch of Ascension Island Mobile, members of the Ascension Island community are invited to register their interest in joining the new network. During registration, customers are asked to provide their current mobile and/or landline number to support planning and transition activities. Registration of interest can be completed online at:

Further information on available services, mobile packages, SIM and eSIM availability, and transition arrangements will be released in due course. While every effort is being made to support a smooth transition, there may be some temporary disruption or initial service limitations as the new network is brought into operation.
