The deadline set by His Excellency the Governor for the receipt of nominations for candidates for the Island Council by-election scheduled for 12 November 2020 was Wednesday 28 October 2020.  However, insufficient nominations were received by the Returning Officer ahead of this deadline. Therefore, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 7(3) of the Elections Regulations, 2008, the election has been declared to be void.

A new date for the by-election will be published in due course.
