Deputy Director Overseas Territories (FCDO) Visits Ascension

Adam Pile OBE, Deputy Director Overseas Territories (FCDO) carried out a familiarisation visit in Ascension from Friday 05 August to Sunday 07 August 2022. This is Adam’s first visit to the island.

On his visit, Adam Pile said:

“It's been fantastic to meet the people who work and live on Ascension, and crucially contribute to the success of this strategic island. I've been impressed by the community spirit and how people have rallied together to help each other through COVID-19. Ascension is, and will continue to be a valued member of the British Family. The island brings a lot to Global Britain, not only with its strategic facilities, but also through the amazing work to protect the unique flora and fauna. Thank you for the warm welcome on Ascension and I look forward to visiting soon”
